In some cases, you can go to a pharmacy, chemo cart, KCA depot or recycling center, but certainly not all municipalities allow you to hand in your chemical industrial waste there.

Yes, the separation of chemical and hazardous waste is mandatory and subject to strict guidelines and regulations regarding collection means (special packaging), storage, transport and processing. This applies to both private individuals and companies. As a company you can be fined if you do not comply with these rules. The government determines which waste materials are considered hazardous or harmful and must be removed and processed as such. These substances are included in the European waste list (Eural).
